Our cases

Below are some of the cases we took in over time. Unfortunately, most of them were severe and some of the pups are still in our care. Any amount you donate helps us help them.

Bella

A wonderful girl who had been carrying that tumor who knows for how long broke our hearts. What both us and the doctors initially thought was a tumor, turned out to be an abdominal hernia: her intestines were outside her abdominal cavity. During surgery things got even more complicated, the doctors found that also her bladder and her uterus were out and she had a pregnancy which had stopped.
Although the surgery lasted much longer and was much more complicated than expected, Bella pulled through, but she will need weeks to recover.

Pufulete/Binx

A handful of puppy, 2kg with the fleas, the ticks and the thistles, was dumped between 2 villages, by the side of the road. As a "bonus", he also had scabies. He needed a month and a half to recover.

Fulgu

We found Fulgu at a bus stop near Turceni, Gorj. Alone, invisible, a bag of bones, he was resigned, waiting for the end.
Fulgu had an open fracture (probably hit by a car), he couldn't move his back legs and, judging by the wounds covering half his body, he laid there like that for at least a week.
He was stabilized, hydrated and his wounds were dressed. Because he still had a spark of life, he ate and drank, we was taken to Trauma Surgery Vet in Bucharest for further investigations.
Although all his internal organs were relatively fine, his spine was broken, but if the open fracture would be repaired and Fulgu would have survived the surgery, he could walk with a wheelchair.
Unfortunately, despite the superhuman efforts from the Trauma Surgery Vet team, Fulgu's body was too frail and he died on the table.
We take solace knowing he didn't die alone, in agony, in the middle of nowhere, and, at least for a day, he knew love, kindness, a full belly and a dry, warm, soft place to sleep.

Ciuf

We found Ciuf in April. In Matasari, in a busy parking lot he was invisible. He had resigned himself to his fate, he was nobody's sick puppy.😔
With your help, we were able to show him that he belongs, he belongs to us all.❤️
After a month of medical care and lots of TLC, the physical trauma started to heal. Unfortunately, the emotional one still lingers and we have a long way to recovery.
Ciuf is still in our care.

Tatutu (Old-man)

The photos are hard to look at, but they represent the reality of Romania's street dogs in 2023.
Tătutu is an old man who lived his entire life on the streets of Filiasi. He suffered in silence and he was content with any scrap of food he found on the street. He was at best ignored by people, but most of the times he was chased away. He never got a good word or a warm pet, he never knew what kindness was.
He is with us, he will never go thirsty, hungry, he won't ever be ignored or chased away.
Unfortunately, Tătutu is fighting a severe infection due to his untreated wounds. We want to give him a peaceful retirement, but the recovery process will be a long one and we need your support.
